I have thought about posting some playing clips using my phone, but the audio quality is horrible. Probably my cheap Wal-Mart Track Phone. I have a Zoom H2 recorder that records well. I just saw a video of an SD card reading device that lets you put things on an SD card then stick the card in the adapter. Now the adapter with the loaded card will plug into an android phone and you can transfer files to your phone. My question is, would this work to transfer audio files from my H-2 to my phone, then allow me to use my phone to post audio files on the forum?

George, why not go straight to your computer from the recorder, and upload from there.

Bill, I didn't know you could post things from your computer to Facebook or the forum. I have a card reader and do know how to load stuff from the H-2 recorder to the computer. I have done this to burn CD's. I'll have to take a look and see if I see anyway to hook up my computer to the forum and Facebook. I really not much into all this tech stuff.

George -
Use a USB cable from your H2 to the computer. The H2 probably came with this cable.
You really only need cards if you are recording alot of audio in the field, more than the H2 will hold.
Hope that helps.

Bud, great info. When I used to record my band a lot and made CD's for band members. I bought a card reader and took the card out and inserted it into the reader. Really not much trouble and that was the only way I knew to do it. I didn't know I could plug the H-2 directly into the computer. Cold weather is coming. It will give me something to do to try a different way. Thanks.

The Zoom H2 is an excellent recorder, allows for multiple MP3 options as well as a WAV option. Wav files as you already know are HUGE so stick with one of the smaller MP3 options, I generally use 128 all the time. So far nobody has sent me any nasty grams.

Hosting your music is a different issue. This forum doesn't host music or video files. Most forums do not.
Photo's only.

heres the path:

Play > record > save the file > upload it to a hosting site > copy the file location > paste the HOT LINK on the forum in your POST.

If you are not familiar, hosting sites can be free personal web sites, YouTube, Soundcloud, Dropbox, or paid Websites etc... Soundcloud is very popular.

I believe even with Facebook you need a Host account, Soundcloud or Dropbox etc... to HOST the file. Same deal Upload to one of those ( they are free) then post the LINK.

Tony, I also use 128 mp3. Tried the wav a couple of times because of a feature on the H2 that was only available on wav. Sound quality difference to me is so sleight, it's not worth eating up so much data using wav.

As far as the hosting thing, sounds way too complicated for me. I don't have anything important to post anyway.

I appreciate the feedback.
