Rare Emerald Green Tolexed Pine Cabs made by Rick Johnson for Lloyd Green and Ricky Davis and James Morehead.
This Amp and speaker set up is exactly what I have been recording with for the last 15 years; it's my sound. This Fender Blackfaced Twin and two speakers are JBL K-130's and extra tubes can be bought for 1800.00 as the Fender twin is priced at 1200.00 and each K130 in cab is 250.00 and 100.00 for extra tubes.

OK KINDA WEIRD; nobody has jumped on this(it's exactly what me and Lloyd Green play and record through)> THE BEST SOUND A STEEL GUITAR WILL SOUND through....
Also you can contact Maryanne to work out buying just the amp or just a speaker cab or two...or whatever...> it is also a lot LIGHTER carrying around a 20 pound box or two instead of a 70 pound all in one amp...ha...HELLO...
Better jump if you feel froggy....ha.

Just want to add this to anyone on the fence on this one. James was a real tone hound, and a lover of classic tone.
I became friends with James about six years ago,when I bought a twin from him. I found him to be a wealth of knowledge regarding getting the best out of an old twin. He had a stash of NOS tubes, and JBL speakers.
He had an old non master twin that he had modded ( I think by Ken Fox ) which I bought from him. It’s a killer....
If he sold me that twin, I’m guessing this is the one he kept for himself so Ill bet he preferred this one. It’s likely everything you’d ever want in a twin for steel.
Mines got a K130 , and it’s sounds fantastic. Ive also used an old Altec 15” and it sounds super sweet.
For someone looking for that sound, this is Likely the real deal. |

Thanks Russ; and thanks Jerry, I agree...I've had Redd Volkaert plug into mine which is identical to this one James Morehead had that his daughter is selling....; and Redd just LOVED it on guitar and already loved me playing steel through it....It is the most REAL sound for any instrument and not a processed synthetic sound that solid state amps produce......>TUBES ALL THE WAY MAN!!!!!!
