Hello, I was hoping someone on the Forum could assist with dating my Emmons S-10 which I've recently acquired in Australia.

Hi Rocky,
I hope you are doing well, my friend. According to my records, your Emmons was probably built in late 1973 or early 1974 but that's about as close as I can determine. I'm guessing it's a fatback, with wide, cast pedals and narrow 2 3/8" [60.3mm] spacing, correct?

Hi Danny,
I don't have near as many records of S-10 numbers built in the later years like yours. My best guess would be around 1981, since it has the LeGrande style pedals.

Hi Lynn, great to hear from you and I hope all is well with you! And thanks for the information.
All is correct but I still haven't worked out the string spacing as yet. It's in great condition, including the case.
The gentleman who sold it to me via Ebay just wrapped the case in one sheet of bubble wrap and had it posted like that. It arrived with just two corners torn against the metal brackets and that's it! Unbelievable!
The Emmons volume pedal is a little different to the type that attaches to the pedal rack in that it appears to be a "floor" model, if that makes sense.
I'll let you know about the spacing some time soon.

Hey Rocky , I have one similar , Matt black and it looks like it started life as maybe a C6 . It came with 6 pedals .

Hi Brendan, nice to hear from you. I bought my first Emmons S-10 P/P in 1991 (Wood Grain/Walnut?)and sold it to Ros Hallyburton in late '92/early '93.
She still plays hers and I was lucky enough to pick mine up very recently!
It started off as a 6 x 1 also and I had 3 levers added and just the 3 pedals.
I'm hoping to have this "new" one overhauled by my friend Danny Caporn from PSG Australia.

Yes I know Ros . I haven’t played my Emmons in a long while . Must get it out and dust off the cobwebs . I have been playing an ETS , great lightweight guitar but very affected by temp changes especially if the sun shines on it so I think I’ll get the Emmons out for the summer  |

| I have Emmons P/P #1205s. The changer is identical to the ones on my '76 D10 so I assume it's a '72 or '73. It's matte black with 3 & 4. |

I have 1218 S, I was told it is a '73, it's a fatback, wide pedals w/ wide 2-3/4" spacing. It was originally a C6 guitar w/ 6 pedals set toward the middle. I also have 1667 S, it is rumored to be an '80 or '81, narrow cast pedals.
