Here's a simple C6th arrangement of a classic, beautiful Hawaiian melody. This tune tells the story of a sea voyage and by repeating the melody over and over, conveys a feeling of waves. It seems to build in power this way. I did this quick arrangement this morning just to show how you can use different textures for a simple melody: single notes, pedal point open strings, dyads, octaves, harmonics, etc. No time to record it today so here's a computer generated audio version.
