I was thinking it might be Dan. Doesn't look like Pete to me but I'm no expert on this era.

Not written in stone I guess, but Sneaky Pete is the only steel player credit listed on Allmusic for the 1975 album which included this tune....

Every time I hear that tune starting I drop whatever I'm doing and get ready for the steel break.
Then it's a few moments of nirvana, all other thoughts vanish.
