I have a BW 1501-4 in a Nash 400 and a BW 1203-4 in a Special 130 as well as a Peavey Neo magnet(8 ohm) that I acquired to swap in the 1501. The magnets do fit both speakers. Both of the original magnets appear to be identical.
I'm wondering if there is any possibility of damage to the speaker or power amp(s), and also difference in potential performance/function with interchanging the magnets? I would like to have the option to interchange magnets if possible...Can this be done without damaging anything? |

Yes, all mags on BW's will interchange except for the early spider web labeled mags. Go for it. No issues.
Even then, you can probably use a newer mag on an old spider web basket but not the other way around. |

I'm curious if swapping between ferrite and neodymium mags on the same cone produces any noticeable difference in the tone of that speaker, and if so in what way(s)? |

Ian, I changed out my standard BW 1501-4 Magnets with Neo's and they sounded exactly the same - only quite a bit lighter :-} _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9
