I have an idea of pretty much how I am going to do a wrist lever (actually maybe two!) on this Williams that I continue to make modifications on https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=348261,,,but would like to see other ideas or examples. Seems like I talk to a lot of players that, truth be told, find up lever kinda inconvenient.

Links don’t work when you parenthesize them.
You always do beautiful work; I’m sure sure whatever you come up with will look and work great. |

Mike Perlowin has posted some pics of wrist levers on his MSA guitars.
I believe it was Michael Johnstone that posted shots of a wrist lever on a Sierra and I also devised one for my Sierra. I don't know how much help it would be, but I can post a pic if you want. On the Sierra, the rear panel has open slot to poke a cross rod through and add bellcranks etc.
Without drilling your Willy, which I'm not suggesting or expecting that you would do, a bracket would have to be bolted to the body or rail, but it can be done.
I found the one that I had worked good in certain situations, but it could be awkward at times...but I'd still do it again in the proper situation. Good luck. |

Thanks,,,Yes, Mike and I have been in communication,,very helpful. At this point my intention is to drill the rear apron of the Willy,,,also to have the lever adjustable laterally about 3 to 4 inches, which should satisfy the needs of most situations. Also thinking about a bar on top of the cabinet alongside the neck that would activate a plunger that would in turn activate the cross shaft,,,it would be very possible to have both (at least in my mind,,,LOL) |

This is the one that I built for the Sierra. It used vertical movement to activate as opposed to Mike's which was actuated by lateral movement.
Possibly, one could install one of ea. design and it might be possible for them to be used at the same time.
