Hello Troops!
Newbie here with a Newbie question.
I can't seem to get my knee levers to tighten into the position I want them.
they don't stay snug. I have broken 2 screws already trying to tighten them up !
Has anyone else had this problem?
shims?
tape?
I have had the guitar for a bout 2 months, and have just been using the natural stops.
Now I want to adjust it to me, but its not happening.
LKL anf LKV are having the biggest problems.
Any suggestions??
thanks,guys.
Any input is appreciated.

Don't tighten that hinge where the knee levers fold up. You need them just loose enough to fold up when you put it in the case. If you would fold a knee lever over and look in that joint where it hinges, you should see a allen head set screw that adjusts in and out to stop your lever either closer to or farther from your knee. It's called the tilt adjustment. Maybe someone will post a photo for you. Nothing should be so tight that it breaks. If you have something coming loose on it's own, apply a small amount of purple or blue Loctite the threads. |

Good afternoon, Tom...A photo might help, but being a long time Mullen owner, I am not sure exactly where you are trying to tighten the knee lever.
The knee levers will simply "hang" in position where ever the set screw dictates. The set screw I am referring to is on the end of the knee lever itself where the lever is bolted to the bell crank assembly underneath. This set screw is designed to set the angle (for lack of a better word) of the knee lever relative to your knee position under the guitar. I have never tightened this bolt very tight as it needs to be somewhat moveable when the guitar is packed away.
I have seen videos where some folks have their knee levers so loose underneath that they swing when being released or moved.
Are we on the right track? _________________ Patrick "Dean" Smith |

Thank you Danny.
I saw the allen screws, but didn't realize what they were for.
makes sense.
DUH
I hope there is enough throw from the allen adjustment
to get them where I want them.
Thank you so much.
I didnt receive tools or owners manual with the purchase, and had found nothing on the website about this. thanks again. |

You can download a manual from their website. It's under the "More" menu. That set screw doesn't need to move much to create more of an angle. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . yup. so simple.
even this cave man figured it out [with forum help]
replaced the busted screws and all is well.
I am thinking a vertical knee lever extension piece is in order. |
