One of the difficult things of working on ZB's is that all the turnbuckles are tightly bunched up near the changer. That makes it hard to get my fat fingers in to adjust them.

I found that having different length spoke rods makes it possible to spread out the turnbuckles. Much easier to adjust!

So... where to get spoke rods that are the right size?
I finally found some! Cool Made by Husky. Here's a link:
https://www.huskybicycles.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Session_ID=7939947b7f5d7baf39da4b9d3121e172&Store_Code=hb&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=561-106

The specifics are:
BICYCLE SPOKES 10-5/8" (270mm) 11-GAUGE WITH NIPPLES

These have the same size head as the original ZB spokes. You can cut them off at what ever length you want and then thread with a 6-40 die.

UPDATE: The original ZB spokes are 10ga. These 11ga work but can be loose fitting depending on the variance of turnbuckle threads. I have yet to find any 10ga less than twice the price of these.

Glad to help Smile
I forgot to mention 6-40 dies - left & right hand...

These folks also have 6-40 taps in LH & RH for cleaning out those old grungy turnbuckles (or making your own).
