I am trying to lighten the load, as many of you have done. I would like to lighten my NV112. I tried it with the Telonics speaker and it was about 2 lbs lighter, but I like the Blue Marvels tone. Is there a neo magnet that would fit a Blue Marvel and, if so, does it sacrifice tone?

You would be better off trying other neo speakers!
The Blue Marvel's design doesn't use a replaceable magnet.

I have a Telonics TSNEO-12 in my NV112. Its 35 lbs with the neo speaker.

I tried a Travis Toy 12 and a 12" SICA. The Telonics won out.

Jack, I had the TSNEO 12 in my NV112 and, to my ears, the Blue Marvel sounds better. I discussed the BM design with my friend, Billy Phelps, and he told me he and John Fabian, of Carter Guitars, worked with Peavey to design the Blue Marvel, when the NV112 was in the design phase. So, I was hoping I could use a NEO magnet with the Blue Marvel. Apparently not.

Jim.. Installed a 4-0hm Sica in my 112 and like Jack, did not care for the tone. Replaced it with an 8-0hm version of the same speaker and the tone improved greatly. Experienced no noticeable volume loss after the swap. (Have no idea as to the technical aspects, but have noticed that later model neo 12" speakers such as the PF-350 and Double T 12 are being produced in 8-0hm versions only. The Telonics is available as an 8-0hm as well).

Lets get this terminology straight, you don't need a speaker that will "fit a Blue Marvel". You want a speaker to "replace a Blue Marvel" or "fit in a Nashville 112". The Blue Marvel is a Peavey speaker brand name for a custom speaker made by Eminence, its not the amplifier.

No offense intended but I believe Jim was pretty clear in his original post that he was NOT looking for a replacement speaker as he likes the tone of the Blue Marvel. The question was about replacement magnets such as the Neos that Peavey has gone to on the 1501 Black Widows. Personally I have gone with the Eminence Legend EM12N because I like it’s darker tone, but again this doesn’t sound anything like the Blue Marvel does.
