| Own a brand new Mullen g2 looking for opinions on what is a good amp to use. Looking for the classic country sound. |

| Congratulation on the guitar, Tyler. I own a G2 and straight into a Webb 6-14 E is honkey tonk as heck. For a tube amp, a G2 through a 66 Bassman is my all-time favorite high-and-lonesome sound... so far. |

I love the stereo steel, telonics amp and NV 400 w/ intense fox mod for my G2. All three amps sounds amazing...

Fender Twin Reverb/Fender Vibrosonic Reverb..., Webb 614E, Quilter Steelaire rackmount into your choice of speaker-cabinet combination. I specified the rackmount because you can use a speaker cabinet with more depth and overall volume (cubic inches, not loud) than the Steelaire combo. I feel that results in fuller tone, especially better on the the low end. Lots of steelers like the combo, though. The relatively new Quilter Tone Block 202 is definitely worth considering.
100% subjective personal preference on my part and ultimately yours. Nobody can tell you which will sound the best to you. That's part of the funstration, though. |

| I use my RP U-12(close enough soundwise?) through either a Twin Reverb Custom 15,a Session 500,or a NV 112.They all do fine,although the 500 is my fave. |

Lots of good answers here. For the classic country sound, +1 for Cartwrights’s Fender/JBL suggestion.
I think a single coil pickup, pot pedal,, and tube amp was the formula on a lot of classic recordings.
I dont think you could go wrong with any of the other suggestions as well. |

There is no "the best." There are a lot of good ones. They all sound a little different from each other, but they all will produce a pleasing sound if you tweak the knobs.
I've had a Music Man twin (one of the early all-tube ones,) a couple of Peaveys, and now I'm using a Quilter Steelaire. They all sound fine.

| As Mike said, there is no “best†amp, only what sounds good to your ears. My favorite right now, using a Mullen G2 with their single coils, is a Steelaire Rackmount into a cabinet with a Peavey 1203-4. |
