Need a little help. Can anyone tell me what year a guitar was built by the serial number? 00976200824. Also does anyone have any idea how many of these were made. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

The custom shop guitars seem to be quite rare. Basically, any Carter with a lacquer finish would be an LE, or anything with an offbeat finish, like a mirror or a mural. I've only seen a handful discussed on the Forum in the last 19 years or so... they certainly exist, but aren't very common.

Some of those customs were built with "timeless timber"
cabinet stock from sunken great lakes logs. I'd really be interested in any comments or input from owners who have those instruments.

Best to all

There's a lot of information in that serial number. It tells you that it:

Was made in 2006
Was the 97th guitar made in that year (2006)
Was made on the 200th day of the year (Wed., July 19, 2006)

They finished approximately one pro model guitar every 2 days back in 2006.

I absolutely love this guitar. Plays smooth as silk and very quite. No pedal noise at all, and the knee levers and pedals so easy with very positive stkps. The wood is is very beautiful and has great sustain and stays in tune. I don't think the back neck was ever used. All the nylon tuning nuts were in all the way way and not anywhere in tune. Only a small area on the pedal bar where it looks as though a pedal bracket may have been used. Grate guitar but my playing still has lots of room for improvement.

"I don't think the back neck was ever used. All the nylon tuning nuts were in all the way way and not anywhere in tune."

Stuff like this baffles me.
I assume that it was shipped from the factory all set up.
If you never use the neck, then it doesn't matter where they are set.
So why would someone go to all of the extra trouble of messing with all of the tuning nuts on the back neck to set them this way?

Why does anyone take a d10 and make it an sd10. If you can't play the back neck and don't have the desire to learn then just buy a s10. No point in making a guitar less valuable. People do stupid things

Billy..From what I can see from the photos, your guitar appears to feature the "Premium" necks as well.
