I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Charlie at the Texas Steel Guitar show early on. Both were fine people.

Shirley and Charlie were very close friends with Nancy and me. We always visited at the store and
often at their home. Here is the last visit in their home before Charlie's death. Also a little history of
a very special steel I purchased from Charlie. Shirley was always very supportive of Charlie and his
steel guitar activities. She was secretary of the TSGA during the eighteenth annual Texas Steel
Guitar Jamboree.

Mrs. Norris was a very kind and loving person. I grew up watching her and Charlie sacrifice and give so kids like me could learn to play music. Mrs. Norris and her husband Charlie were family to me and my family. My life has been touched and blessed by the Norris family. I am happy that Charlie and his wife are together again.

Mitzi and I are so sad to hear that Shirley has passed. From day one they treated us like brother and sister and we really loved them dearly. Since 1993 we spent many great years with Charley and Shirley and the TSGA . They will be sorely missed. LOve, Buck and Mitzi

Our prayers and condolences go out to the family. Shirley was a sweet and kind lady. She and Charlie were instrumental in getting me started in the steel guitar world by giving me my first job as the staff keyboardist on the TSGA show. She will surely be missed.
