I just call a call from my band colleague Tom Teboe that our mutual friend, steel guitarist Wade Austin has passed away on July 20 unexpectedly.
Wade, whose correct name is Wade Dotezenrod, was a fixture at many gigs in the Seguin and San Antonio area. He was a steel player and would always come to gigs of mine to listen and good-naturedly joke and rib with the band.
I will miss him as I always enjoyed seeing his smiling face. He will be cremated, and on our next gig Tom Teboe and the River City Ramblers will dedicate our performance to Wade's memory. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

Herb, sorry to hear about your friend as it sounds like he was a good steeler and a heck of a hoot. It's always tuff to loose a loved one or a good friend.
