It is with great sadness that I tell everyone here about the passing, on July 5, of my friend and musical colleague Harvey Kagan.
Harvey was a superb bassist who made his musical mark early as bassist for the original Sir Douglas Quintet, the great San Antonio band responsible for the 60's hits "Mendocino," "She's About a Mover," "Nuevo Laredo," "And the Rains Came," and more.
He left the music business in the 80's and became a pharmacist, but never completely gave up gigging and worked with other San Antonio area groups all through the 70's and into the 2100's. I last worked with him in December of 2018 and the gig was filled with laughter and reminiscing.
I will miss my friend greatly. This is my third good friend to pass in July 2019. Too much too soon. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |
