Anyone try one of these?
I was thinking of getting one of these cheap tuners as a backup.
It registers the notes and can also display the actual frequency number to the 1/10 of a hz which would be helpful if you tune to certain sweetened tunings, provided you know the specific hz that you are looking for.
Thanks

I've been using a Snark for 6 years. I clip it to the C6 peghead btw pegs 5+6 and it picks up both necks without the amp even on. |

I have a Snark, but not that model. It works very well at home; but not so well on the bandstand. It picks up too many vibrations from the other instruments if I try to use it while the band is playing. |

Yes I tried a Snark ST-8. Using on "underarm guitar".
Could never get it to work as advertised, with the Hz display. I think it's bogus. Other Snarks are great. _________________ "To live outside the law you must be honest." (Bob Dylan) |

I have a different brand of clip on tuner that I've never used on my steel,I keep it in my electric guitar gig bag,Last year in Denver Dan Tyack asked if he could borrow it to tune his steel...I had no idea until I watched Dan do it. _________________ Steeltronics Z-pickup,Desert Rose S-10 4+5,Desert Rose Keyless S-10 3+5... They work pretty well as long as you can clamp it securely on. I have a keyless lap steel that won't take a clipon.
For other instruments where you want to see if the initial attack is sharp, the credit card size non-clipon tuners from Boss and Korg give reading over a shorter averaged period. _________________ - keyless Sonny Jenkins laps stay in tune forever!; Carter PSG

These are great little tuners! I have every kind of
tuner they ever invented...and I DON'T use them on my
steel...but I have put one on every 6-string I've got,
and I've got a lot of them! They work great on electric
and acoustic!
I use Peterson for my steels! _________________ Emmons Legrand II D10 - Gretsch White Falcon stereo - Peavy NSVL. 1000 - Peavy Stereo Chorus 400 |
