I really want to give up my 6139 D10 and get an LDG. It I had the thought “why not covert my D10 to an LDG?”...

Any thoughts on the conversion? The D10 is 100% tricked out (both necks) with Marrs parts. I have done a fair amount of work on it and my previous guitar and am comfortable with the mechanics of the switch over, not so much the final setup.

Anyone done this and has success?

You can take off the back neck and related parts, and make it an SD10. But it won't be an LDG. Crying or Very sad

(All the extra holes would be the dead giveaway that it started as something other than an LDG.)

Is the weight the issue? That is a beautiful guitar. I wouldn't do it, but the guitar could be put back together should you want't to sell it. But, that's just me.

Danny I have converted a Sho bud 111 to sd 10 it turned out fine I used the back neck parts to build another s 10 Steel.

The problem with your steel is she such a nice steel I don’t think I could bring myself to convert her.

I've seen postings of several D-10's converted to SD-10's.

If you REALLY want an LDG (SD-10) offer a trade of yours for one. Bet someone will jump at that.

I’m headed to look at a 1981 LDG today. If I like it I may just list the D10 for sale.

Nice one!! My 70's pro2 had those slim pedals. Loved them. Best style of pedal I've ever used. Enjoy the heck out of it!!!!!!
