John McClung, you mentioned having bought several accommodators years ago for your students. would you still have an extra you could sell me?
I would like to buy one of these plexiglass(or lexan???) racks. Anyone?
I know Tom Bradshaw Tab Racks are available from Tom, I have two of them and they are great. I really would like to find an Accommodator first before buying another Tab Rack.
Thanks much.
Dick

I would like to find one of these or at least if someone could post some pictures.
Can't be that hard to build one.
Thanks

David thank you very much! If no one here has one to sell, I can indeed make one of these. Pretty simple.

Anyone that has one of these and does not want to sell it, could you tell me what thickness the acrylic is please?
And is it heavy?
This really will be an easy project if none come up for sale here.
David again thanks for finding those links. I had looked but hadn't found anything, I didn't type the right things into the search I guess.

My ac. rack measures a little less than 1/8. I can’t weigh it accurately though as 6 inches and more of the bottom ledge is broken and I’ve bolted a piece of aluminum to it so it can still rest in the brackets. Starting new , I would go with the Bradshaw rack. I’ll be happy to send a picture of the brackets. |

Hi Patrick. Thanks for the thickness measurement. Knowing that I don't need the weight then.
I have two of Tom's tab racks. They are super and definitely more durable then the acrylic rack.
I bought one of Toms very first tab racks years ago, then a couple years ago I bought his much improved rack. Both are currently in use. His new ones are great.
The clamps are easy to make. I use a length of correct size gray pvc pipe and slice about a 3rd of the pipe off so the 2/3rd's act as a clamp on the legs and it works great without scratching the chrome legs. Then I connect the aluminum brackets to the pvc clamps.
Though the acrylic is not as durable as it cracks and scratches fairly easy, it just seems that a clear rack would appear more invisible when in use.
If this doesn't pan out, I will just go ahead and buy another Tom Bradshaw tab rack.
Thanks again Patrick.

I have decided to order another of Tom's fine racks, but I am still going to see about making a plexirack.

If a see-through Rack is preferred, rather than the Aluminum ones that come with my Racks, and if you had my leg clips, Tap Plastics could easily make a music holder that would fit onto my leg clips. In fact, you could probably buy a sheet of the plastic (cut to size) and glue on the bottom edge that fits into the plastic leg clips! ...Tom |

Hi Tom:
Thanks for the tip.
The extra brackets I ordered from you this week along with the other items is what I will use, also watched some videos on bending plexiglass, so I will give it a go. If I don't like it I am not out much, I can use the brackets for the old style rack I bought from you several years and widen the shelf on the rack to work with the new brackets.
