I liked her singing too. Just as how much Weldon Myrick was responsible for the Connie Smith sound, Pete Drake was responsible for Billy Jo Spears sound. |

She was married, at one point, to recently passed on steeler Terry Bethel.
I met her at Terry's booth in St Louis one year. |

I had the privilege of playing twin steels with BJ when Mike Edlin was her steel man and husband. This was in 1974 & 1975. She had a lot of chords in some of her songs and Mike and I worked up twin violins with the Boss Tones. She was wonderful to work for.
