well, I would not call it junk..it is a complete Steel Guitar..
made from a Lawn Chair..as it so appears....
It looks functional, way better than a lot of other things that have popped up along the way... |

Hey, it still don't beat the "barn door hinge" steel that was in the mix about a year ago. Now that one was classic. |

I wonder what secret electronics are housed in the little metal box that is mounted under the guitar, near the changer. |

Sure, looks are half of it.
But I wouldn't automatically judge this as just 'junk'.
What if it plays wonderfully?
It's another case of where you shouldn't judge a book by the cover.
Think about it.

Richard, you've done it again! You have warped my mind! (as if it wasn't already).
Did you used to work for Sierra? No, not the steel guitar company, "Sierra Plumming and Air conditioning?"
You are thinking way to much! But don't stop, you are a great entertainer!
Your friend,
Bobbe
P.S., by the way, I almost forgot, I loved your movies,[This message was edited by BobbeSeymour on 22 January 2006 at 01:30 PM.] |

Actually, I've been thinking...
Richard B., I have a near-mint condition '75 Emmons D-12 push-pull, beautiful cosmetics and flawless mechanical function (black mica) and I want to send it to you and have you put the most rip-roarin' mechanical mods on it you can conceive of... I want it all - springs for every dimension of motion, rods everywhere a rod could be, doing things no one on the forum has every even dreamed of... I don't even want it to resemble what it used to be when completed...!
Just kidding - how are you doing so far, Bobbe?! [This message was edited by Duane Reese on 22 January 2006 at 04:39 PM.] |

Sure beats the first so called pedal steel I ever had by a mile! Seriously, when I moved up to a vinyl covered Maverick, it was like going from a pedal car to the Space Shuttle!!!

Bobbe,
Are you a mind-reader??
How did you know that I'd done basic plumbing during my engineering apprenticeship??
Duane, send the steel on over !
Here's two examples of my handiwork.
The first one will have to be modified again, as there's nowhere near enough springs on it
I'm also branching out into guitar mods:

Richard, I considered getting the guitar cited and coming to you for advice on how to make it work.
But then the bidding went over $50. Up to $202 so far![This message was edited by Charlie McDonald on 23 January 2006 at 05:56 AM.] |
