this might be the wrong place for this topic.
I saw on the news where Apple is going to retire itunes.
that announcement seems like bad news to me, and I thought there might be some discussion on here about that, but nothing.
I have really enjoyed having thousands of my record collection songs available anytime/anyplace up to this point in time.
Any thoughts? |

I don't think it's disappearing altogether - I think there's some rebranding going on. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Larry I was wondering about that too when I saw it in the news. But to me it looks more like a re-branding thing. They said iTunes was already gone but I just bought an album a couple of days ago. Maybe I'm wrong but I think Apple is still going to be selling music downloads in the same way regardless of what they may decide to call it.
As an aside..and I've raised this issue here before...I believe that there should be a law requiring that all music sold, whether on vinyl, CDs or downloads list all of the musicians who played on the project. This is something that should be universal. It could be done if enough studio players got together and forced the issue. Musicians are as much artists as singers and in fact play a huge role in the commercial success of any music project.
I buy all of my music on iTunes these days but one thing I really miss is poring over the album credits. |
