Look at the tuners when you actuate the pedal or lever. Generally visibly more movement of the tuner you want.

Mike, write down on a paper # 1 through 10
buy a ten pack of magic markers in assorted colors.
color each tuner and write the color down beside that #,
for instance,

1-Red
2-Dark Blue
3-Black
You get the picture Very Happy

My Zum has that problem moreso than my previous MSAs and Mullen: all rods raising a string seems to activate all rods doing a raise on other pedals or levers. Very confusing. Its tuning hex nuts have solid ends so I've used a marker to write on each one where it's used, usually just P for Pedal, V for Vertical, K for Knee Lever, is enough help so I don't fiddle with the wrong pull rod!

I did this on my Carter D10. With 4 pedals and 6 knee levers operating on the E9 neck alone, I colored the nuts. It looked funny, but worked. On my Mullen SD12 Royal Precision 3x4, I have no problems seeing which nut is moving.
