Had a red '56 years ago and it was a great couch-sittin' guitar. Can pay market price according to condition and originality. _________________ "I am certain of nothing", Anthony Bourdain |

Hi - a stock 1956 would have been blonde with a short-scale neck. Red, white and blue options weren't offered until 1964 and it's extremely unlikely Fender would have done a one-off custom finish of a 3/4 scale neck student model.
They made both short scale and long-scale (Musicmaster II) models after 1964 in red. Are you sure about the year? If so it was almost assuredly a refinished guitar. OTOH, if it had a normal (long) scale neck it was made in 1964 or later.
Hope that helps pare down the hunt. _________________ No chops, but great tone

Thanks for the info Jim. Gonna send it back to the top one more time. Wanting a '56 through early '59 one piece maple neck Musicmaster of any color (even refin body considered with price reflecting condition). _________________ "I am certain of nothing", Anthony Bourdain |
