Hi, I will be on a trip to Texas from the 30th of May to 2nd of June. I would like to see some pedal steel playing while I'm there.

I love Dale Watson music and other honky tonk old school country.

Thanks!

How can you NOT go to a place that looks like this.. LOL!

June 2 - Gruene Hall with Houston Marchman, 5P-9P (as cool as Gruene Hall is, I'd opt for Geoff's gig with Heybale over this one. That's a killer show. Smile)

Hi Bob,
I lived on Barton Springs road back in 1980. Maybe it was Barton Springs Skyway? My memory is getting bad these days.
Austin was great back then. Got there in time to see part of the last show at the Armadillo! Very Happy
Maybe I'll live in Texas again some day. Great state.
Best wishes,
Andy

Haha... it's the coolest place ever. It started life as a general store I think, a long time ago, and it's been owned and operated by the same family for years. Despite the foreboding external appearance, it's a cool place inside and very family friendly. Almost always a bunch of kids running around. The BBQ is really good, and of course a variety of adult beverages are available.

Several movie scenes have been shot here as well. It's quite an experience, just don't bump into the wood-burning stove in the winter. LOL..

As he always does, Redd puts on a great show at his happy hours on Saturday at the Continental, but bear in mind that he usually doesn't have a steel player on Saturdays.
