One of the most important aspects of playing guitar is chordal accompaniment. But it is one of the more challenging aspects of playing lap steel guitar. I have a copy of the Jerry Byrd Lap Steel method and there are 6 chord studies that I have been working on. I thought I would record a couple of these with some basic ukulele backing to practice over. If any body is interested in trying these I have played the backing chords after the studies and and included the tabs for you to play along with.
Jerry Byrd's chord study no1 and No2. These studies will give you alternative options for playing over basic chord progression using bar slants. This is for 6 string lap steel guitar tuned to C6/A7 although most of it will work on straight C6 tuned guitars.

There are links to free tabs in the YouTube descriptions.

I hope you all enjoy,

Hi Mike, Thanks for posting the clips on Youtube. I have the Jerry Byrd course too but I haven't been doing much practice lately and this has inspired me to get going again! What amp do you use with your Epi Electar?

Thank you all for your kind comments....I really appreciate them.
Phil, I play through a little Yamaha THR10 on the acoustic setting. It is recorded directly through USB into a PC!
