Greetings, fellow SGFs:

I've owned an old Webb 540 bass/keyboard amplifier head for years and would like to get it serviced. I've tried finding an original schematic online to no avail. I understand the circuitry is basically the same as the much-loved original-issue 614e. (which I also own, use and cherish) Both of these amps are from the late 70s, built by Mr. Webb here in Northern California.

Does anyone have a copy of either schematic that I can share with my tech? I'd be most grateful, and happy to make a small donation to SGF in return.

Best,
LC

There are a number of old, dead links in my search. However I do have these on file. Brad Sarno may have been the source.
The list in the link at the bottom deals with replacement caps which may correspond to the coloration in the schemos?

If the forum reduces these too much, I can email them to you. My copies are 1200 x 640.

Done. Glad to help. Turns out the forum's new allowances only reduced it a few % so what you see here is not much different from my files.

Larry, I'm expecting Webb 614E schematics in the mail any day from Tom Bradshaw, my 1976 Webb has developed an annoying spitting noise I'm trying to get rid of. I'll scan, then post. Should I email directly to you as well?

All best,
John McClung

This is why I love this Forum so much. Such an abundance of great information for the asking, so many super-friendly and super-helpful players and lovers of the steel guitar.

Jon - thanks, again.
Ken - thank you, and fyi, my 614e that you re-capped and cleaned up so many years ago is still working perfectly, super tone. (: and what a wealth of great Webb maintenance information. you're the best.
John - yes, please, I'd love to see the schematics that Tom B. sends you. thank you.

made my donation to the Forum this afternoon, thanks, bOb.

grateful and will let you all know how it all turns out.

I have the ORIGINAL schematics sent to me in 1979 by John Campbell
who actually designed the amp.
I emailed some copies to a few guys back in the 90's and they sorta went viral from there. Rolling Eyes
They started popping up all over the interweb.
I have since made better digital copies.
