Topic: Making wide Sho~Bud pedals narrower? |

| I’m considering narrowing my wide Bud pedals. Anyone who has done it, what width did you decide on? Any recommendations? Thanks! |

Yes, I've done it. Loved it. Totally modernized the look and they felt great. I think I cut two rows off on each side. Right down the valley. They cut easily. I then sanded and polished the sides of them. I'll try to post a picture. It's on here somewhere. People will probably tell you not to mess with such a classic but I disagree. Ron

Amazing, thanks Ron! My Bud is nowhere as pretty as yours (VERY PLAYED!) so no harm in modifying.
What did you use to cut the pedals down?

Original wide Sho Bud pedals are getting scarce.. They are not easy to find, and are often expensive if you find a few...
A much better idea would be to trade the wide ones for the later narrow pedals.. I have seen it done several times here, and everyone wins. If a guy has wide ones he wants to trade, the guys that have narrow ones are usually very eager to swap.. Don't cut up those valuable pedals. Just trade them off... bob

| To me those wide pedals should stay wide just like the paddle pedals on a push-pull they are part of the history. It's a lot like chopping up a vintage Telecaster and putting a middle pickup in or a humbucker in the neck. It doesn't make sense. But it isn't my guitar. |

| Are they interchangeable? I was always told the bracket they are mounted on is different, depending on the pedal width. |

Mark. Just a hack saw. Just go slow. If you have a band saw with a metal cutting blade, that's better still. I don't know if the narrow ones, if you were to trade, would fit or not. RP

| my Bud is double 10 PRO 111 the pedal rod was the same size , I also have a pedal rod from a sho Bud Maverick that is the same size, I don't know what the narrow pedals came off of. |
