Jim, check with Herb Steiner. I believe that Herb plays MMM's Christmas shows so he may know who's on tour with him.

I remember in the 80s, he had a steel player who played a yellow Sho-Bud Super Pro. The steel was seen in his video, "Long Line Of Love"

The last time I saw MMM was on a Bluegrass Underground airing a couple yrs. back. At that time it was an all acoustic band with his son on Mando and the awesome guitar flat picker Pat Flynn.

I picked on a show with maybe 3 artists in NY City, during the mid 70,s. It was Herb Steiner on that show.

That would be Carmen Acciaioli. He's still playing that same Sho-Bud as far as I know.

Jim, where are you seeing him? I went to his website and don't see any dates around here?

I know he doesn't tour, but Dan Dugmore is on a lot of the new record.

Jim. I know some of the guys out with him lately and he did not use steel on his last tour. I had the pleasure of working with him once last year and he was awesome. I’ll see if the same guys are doing this tour, it may be another band though.

I hear from Michael occasionally, but I haven't worked with him since 2012. He did sit in with the Gary Nunn band when we played at Steamboat Springs CO in 2015, but I think his band is acoustic nowadays.

I just convinced my daughter to go see a talk and musical performance at Texas Tech, where my daughter is at now, next week, featuring Lloyd Maines, Bob Livingston, and Gary P Nunn.

Wish I could attend, but not possible, should be a informative event sponsored by the the school which has done a great job of preserving the local music heritage.

Herb, you were in a band with Bob years back in L.A., is that correct?

No, I was in a band with Murphey and the late Boomer Castleman (a Forumite, btw). Bob was living in the mountains north of San Bernardino, and I'd stay at his house when the 1971 earthquake closed the highway between my home in Hollywood and my gig in Palmdale (60 mi. north of LA)
