I am looking at changing pickups out in an Emmons push pull. I have a set of Alumitone, set of BL 710 and a set of Truetone. Anyone have any experience with any of these in an Emmons PP?

I'd go with the Trutone.

Truetone on the E9 neck in my Emmons PP sounds very good.

A microphonic single coil and a BL 805 that sounds too fat for my taste.

I think that the Truetone would be closest to the sound you expect from an Emmons.

I totally agree with you Craig, regarding the BL 805 being too fat and dark. About 35 yrs ago, I had BL 805s for a very short time on both necks of one guitar. I quickly swapped them out for 705s which were much better to my ear.

Given the choice of pickups you have on hand right now, I too would go with the TrueTone single coils as I agree with what b0b stated.
