Here are a few of the photos I took last weekend at the TSGA Jamboree. Thank you for your patience while I edited and assorted the 400 photos I took. In addition to editing photos, I played badminton twice and went to rugby practice, in preparation for my first game tomorrow in over 4 months! Pictures will be posted pretty much in the order that they were taken. Sorry to be so long but this involved lots of work.

TSGA President, Albert Talley, closing the 2019 TSGA Jamboree

I believe I've covered most of the players with noted exceptions from the Rick Alexander Room; it's hard to be everywhere all the time! Some players were shot more than once as they were scheduled that way OR they filled in for some players who were unable to attend the Jamboree. Also, some were multi-instrumentalists! Hopefully those of you who were also unable to attend will get a sense of what you missed! I'm sorry to be so long getting the photos posted but I've had a busy week; now to rest for my rugby game tomorrow afternoon. I hope to return to Texas next year. Best wishes to all! Jim Harrison

Thanks, Jim for the great pictures. Wish I could have been there to hear all the good music. I attended the Texas show a few years back and it is the best steel guitar get together in the world today.

Thanks for sharing the pictures Jim! I see a picture of Jim Pack who played Bass in the backup for some of the artists. He is in the one with Buddie & James, playing the Creme colored Fender Jazz Bass. I think he also played a set with Sara Jorey and Paul Franklin. He is married to my cousin Marilyn.

Neil Lang. Jimmy Don Pack is a heck of a fine bass player. I think it comes from milking all those cows. He nailed Sarah Jory’s sets which include some not your standard Texas Honkytonk music. He’s told me about your Rosey guitar.

Danny,
Yes Jim is a great bass player, he has played with countless Texas Stars and Nashville artists. He also charts many of the songs for the people he works with and for.
I am bringing Bobby Flores up here to the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center in August. I am hoping Jim can make it up for that and play Bass for us. I will have the "Rose~Bud" on stage for that one. We haven't been to the Texas show for about 3 or 4 years now, we better make reservations for next year!!!!!
Neil

Nice pics Jim. The one pic I had to take 4 looks to recognise the player was Billy Phelps. Wow he is half the man he used to be maybe even less.

Thank you very much to all who have made such fine comments about the pictures I have posted. I would also like to thank all the musicians, both named & unnamed, who provided us with such great music all weekend and who provided me with fine subjects to capture with my camera. I hope to be back next year as I suspect, most of you would as well!! Take care!!

Ivan, in the past few years Billy was riding a motorized scooter. This year he was bouncing around like a teenager, never saw a scooter. I think he found the fountain of youth. I need to see if he will divulge it’s location.

Neil,

You should lease a display room next year at the TSGA show, bring Rose~Bud and charge a fee to feast your eyes on such a beauty. Maybe you could raffle off a chance to play her for the Benevolent Society.

I've seen pictures before but would pay good folding money to see the real thing. Have you ever thought about Gold plating all the hardware? That and diamond strings, what do you think? She deserves it!!!

Jim Harrison what great photos of the Dallas Show this year. As always just perfect. It was great to see you and wish I had more time to visit. I really wanted to but you were always busy doing what you do better than anyone.

As to Billy Phelps, I first Billy in St Louis in 1996. I was in total amazement at his appearance this year. I almost did not recognize him. I am very glad of the progress he has made over the last two years to improve his health. A great person and a great player/singer among other things.

I really miss Billy being in the Carter Room in years past. He was always a great host and rep for Carter Guitars.

I would like to thank Charles Tilley for allowing me to play a set on Thursday night and I also enjoyed playing a half hour with Jeremy Drawbaugh. It was a plesure.

On another note, I spent quite a lot of time with Jacob King, a very fine young man with an awesome amount of talent. Jacob is very humble and is soaking up everything like a sponge. I wish him well and many years of great playing. Unless you have heard him you can't image how much talent and love he has for the steel guitar.

Thanks to all for all the effort in putting his show together. It is a labor of love for Albert and Debbie Talley. Hope I can make it again next year.
