Back in the early 1960's........Jerry Byrd was doing a show with Chet Atkins over WSM Radio........call "TWO GUITARS".
Is it possible that ANYONE on this Forum might have a copy of one or more of those great broadcasts?
OR, "Barnyard Frolics" or whatever it was called? |

Ray It probably wasn't the Barnyard Frolic. I know about that, The Barnyard Frolic happened back in the 50's and was a stage show broadcast on radio live and direct from the Robinson Auditorium in Little Rock, AR. It ran a few years. Elvis was there so was my Uncle Tommy Henderson SR and JR. Uncle Tommy played the fiddle and "Little Tommy" played the fiddle and horn. Remember the Hardins, Bobby, Robbie and Arlen? They were regulars as were the Browns, Jim Ed, Maxine and Bonnie. Man what show's and a good time! It was at a time before TV was big and country music was the real thing. I remember chopping cotton and saving money to catch a Greyhound bus from England, AR to LR to see the show. Also at some point the Hardins and Browns met head to head a talent contest. Guess who won???? Oh by the way the Hardins also chopped cotton and went to Plum Bayou Public School's. They could tell some very interesting stories. I wish they would. |

The 'Two Guitars' shows were on WSM in the early or mid 50's - I used to listen to them, and then go and try to play some of Jerry's instrumentals. I asked the same question on the Forum a few monthsa ago and never got any real leads. I am very interested in a copy of one or several of the shows if you find them.
Good Luck,
Jim |

I can trace a couple of "Airshots" that exist with a collector in SoCal.
I'll get back to you on it ..
