Back in 1973 I was driving on a freeway on a rainy night in St Louis and saw a broken down car on the shoulder with some long hair types looking at the situation. Being a different era, I stopped and offered the folks a ride home. One of the guys said thanks but he didn't want to leave his pedal steel behind. I didn't play steel then although I played guitar so I knew. We packed it up and I took them to St Charles, MO. I went back to visit them once a bit later.
So what are the odds that guy is on these forums?
Hope this isn't too off topic, mods |

Cool story Steve..different era. Me and my buddy were hitchhiking in '90 in the rain in Colorado or New Mexico and picked up by a guy in a station wagon that was packed to gills with tiny marijuana plants. He told us if we stepped on any we'd have to get out. I'm sure I must have smashed some getting in...I didn't see a pedal steel in there though. |

Well, one time I was hitchhiking around St. Louis in 1973 and a guy picked me up. After a few minutes, I asked him, "How do you know I'm not a serial killer?" He just laughed and said, "Because what are the odds of having two serial killers in the same car?"

Johnie, it doesn't surprise me. In this internet age, good jokes (and even bad ones!) travel faster than ever - instantaneously around the world. _________________ www.JimCohen.com
