My current priorities are good sound, small footprint, an available simulation of analog delay, and some available ambience features (modulations etc.) for occasional use. I'm quite satisfied with the TC Electronic Flashback. If I needed deeper fine tuning, my Strymon El Cap is great but it's overkill for my current gigging needs. |

Hilton Pro Delay. I use 'em and sell 'em. Hilton quality at a great affordable price.

Not a big delay fan here. But, I do use it a little these days. I run a Zoom MS50-G in the effects loop of my Nashville 400 for reverb (reverb in amp died), and have patches that include some delay. But I still prefer just reverb. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I've owned and used the BOSS DD-3, DD-5, DD-7, the Digitech Hardwire DL-8, the Joyo JF-33, and the Hilton Pro Delay. I prefer the Hilton. But for under thirty clams delivered straight to your mailbox, the Joyo offers considerable bang for the buck and sounds really good. |

Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man, 70's vintage. Big and bulky, expensive as hell, but nothing comes as close to an actual echoplex. I believe it's the preamp circuit. |

Ron,
I do too.
I have a few other ones but always come back to the DD2 or the DD3, I can't tell much difference.

So far I have not run across a foot pedal equivalent
of Lexicon Processors and would snatch one if I ran across
one that captured the quality of Lexicon
Second to that I would vote for a Benado Steel Dream,
Virgo or Strymon El Capiston |

I thought Sarah Jory's delay sounded great in TX last weekend, and noticed she is using a DD3.
I mentioned this to Brad Sarno and he mentioned that the DD3 is an all Analog signal path, whereas the DD7 uses Analog to Digital converters.
I may try a DD3 but it does not have Tap Tempo as far as I can tell.
I really like Tap Tempo lately, and have been using a Line-6 Echo Park in the "dotted-eighth note" mode.
I also have the Behringer clone of the RV3, and it also has Tap Tempo, but with less Tap features than the Echo Park (no dotted eighth note setting). |

TC Flashback mini, Boss RV-3, or Ibanez AD-9. But not tons and not always. I usually keep two in line set to long and short delay so I can pick one depending on the song. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Danelectro, Evans, Fender, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

I play mostly rack rigs w/digi fx, but for a single amp NV400, I use this old AD80 analog delay.
These and the similar Boss DM-2 are ridiculously over priced and hard to find now though. The AD9 mentioned earlier is a good analog delay box.
The Boss DD-3 has to be one of the most used digital delay units for steel guitar players. |

I'm using a POD X3 for both Reverb (spring emulation) and Delay (Digital Delay). |

Always evolving, I just yesterday ordered a TC Electric Nova. As long as it sounds decent (we'll see), it's all about the presets. In a smallish footprint.
