| Can anyone tell me if anyone ever made a DVD on working on or repairing an all pull pedal steel, preferably an Emmons, I'm way up in northern N.Y. where I don't know of a lot of steel players and no repair men that I know of anyways...gonna have to do it myself I guess and just thought that if there was some instructional DVD on the subject then it would be a little easier...Thanks. |

This may be a long shot, but you might try YOUTUBE. I've used this resource for just about everything I've done that I didn't know how to do. It amazes me how much info there is in the website. Wouldn't hurt to look.

Clem covers that repair procedure on a cut-tail D-10 in his most recent (August 2018) DVD. |

If the pin broke off, Could be quite a project.
Is the pin a solid pin, or Roll Pin ???
If it is a roll pin, It should have a very small hole in the middle of the pin. It may be possible to put a small drill bit in a drill and contact the center of the pin. If the pin wants to grab on the drill bit and spin in the hole, Oil the pin and you may be able to let the drill spin the pin and get it to back out of the hole till you can get a hold of the pin with needle nose pliers and remove the broken part, Then replace with a new pin.
Go Slow and Careful not to damage the finger.

Jeff,
If it is easy to get access to the broken pin without taking the changer apart or off the guitar, take it to a good local machine shop. A technician there would be able to get the old pin out and replace it for you. |
