Topic: Roller nuts (again) on Duesenberg |

Since nobody responded on the old Duesenberg post, I'll ask again: on the Duesenberg Fairytale, do the roller nuts actually provide any benefit? It can't be played without the built-in sliding capo which clamps down on the strings. You can't tune it open without the capo clamped down which totally renders the rollers useless.....or am I missing something?

| Wish I had one, and don't, wish I knew the correct answer, and don't. But for the sake of conversation, I don't think the capo system fastens hard to the fretboard. So the strings could move freely when the the bender is pressed. Hope an owner would chime in here. Joe |

If it is one with the levers, it would help with them. Maybe not when using the capo, but when playing open strings.

You still have to use the capo in the open position. The capo is at the end of the neck and you have to clamp it down. So, the rollers don’t get to do anything as far as I can tell. You can’t play the guitar without the capo.

The capo functions as the nut when it is slid all the way down the neck to where it stops. You have to tighten it to be able to tune the guitar. Hence my question as to what do roller nuts do in this case. My guess is they are components used on other guitars, but essentially don’t do anything on the Fairytale. It’s a great guitar with beautiful components, but a previous post on roller nuts had me wondering ....do these do anything?
