My Goodrich Matchbox 4 A is distorting. When I first plug it in, it's clean, but within just a minute or two, it starts distorting. Batteries are new - I've tried multiple new pairs of batteries. I've tried rolling off the gain. Still distorted. I'm not running much for practice - matchbox-volume-verb-amp. When I remove the matchbox from the chain the distortion is gone.
Any thoughts on what could be wrong? Worth fixing an old unit? |

Wires/connections look solid, but I noticed some corrosion on one of the battery terminals. Cleaned that off, will try plugging it in this afternoon, find out how it works. |
