Hi lapsteelers !
My third one this year . . Mad World came from the British band Tears for Fears,
but Gary Jules made a intriguing version of it in 1997, which I can still play everyday . .
The arrangement starts a bit tricky, but practice will do.
First verse one voice, second verse two voices, and at the end high on the neck again.
Hope you like this little challenge !
My version on YouTube is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIMfP9ES8Jc&feature=youtu.be
Below is the first part of the tablature, and if you want the complete 3-page PDF and the backingtrack,
just e-mail me, and I'll send it right away, for free !
With best regards,
Bert

Hi Bert,
That is absolutely great.
Very very nice version of that song and your playing appears effortless.
It sounds wonderful.
I like watching the videos because the guitar I tuned to C6 is a Rogue which
is identical to your guitar. I guess it's sold under about a dozen different names.
Wished mine sounded as good. I love the tone you get.
Thank you....your efforts are much appreciated.
Have a good day. _________________ I have stuff.

Thanks Bert, this song really keeps me on my toes. It makes me do math in my head: "Wait now, 19 is how many frets up from 12?" "22 ... There's 12, there's 14, now where do I go?" I need to take my socks off so I can count that high. |

Great song, Bert! I'm so glad we share so many of your song choices and we even have the same lap steel guitar! Thanks so much for sharing the tab and backing track. Your backing tracks are always a treat to play along with! I love when the drums come in! |

Do not feel like the Lone Ranger.
I've decided I need a guitar with at least a 30" scale length
so I can zero in on those frets way up there.
They are all blurring into one big fuzzy fret..... _________________ I have stuff.

Don't despair !!
If it's really too hard, go for "minus 12" ! |

Another great arrangement for the lap steel. I like the high
register notes. It is a challange to play them, but is force me to get them right and this is wondeful. |

Haha, when I've recorded and mixed the music,
I ask my wife to shoot a clip on the Nikon Coolpix for instruction, while I'm playbacking.
In this way I don't take too much of her time ! |
