yes, and I hate them , but you can buy packs of 100 off the net for very minimal. These are standard hardware issue everywhere. 7/64 E Clips
Don't try to save these things, just put a new one on. And don't try to find them when they pop off either !
The one and only complaint I have with the LII's and L III's are these ridiculous E Clips , which is the system used to secure the pull rods to the bell cranks (pullers)
The absolute best rod/secure system is the spring clip design. It should be a law that every manufacturer use them. But you can't use them on stock Emmons Legrande II/III pull rods, the bend thru the bell crank is not long enough !

PP uses set screws and all sorts of spacers, collars and stuff, no E Clips. the first Legrandes also used set screws and swivels which are fastened to the bell cranks with retaining rings.( snap rings ) The E clips are only used on the LII and LIII's. _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

Push pull swivels are retained with “snap rings†while LeGrande pull rods utilize “e-clipsâ€. Both are a PITA, but not enough so for me to forego playing Emmons guitars. |

maybe my pp is different, but it uses a 1/4 inch clip on the swivel that attaches to the bellcrank. the originals were small and required a special tool and were a b&##* to put on, but i got the ones that you can use needle nose pliers and they can be put on very quickly....thanks jack |

True for me as well Larry, I have a 95 L II love it. The E clips are only an issue if
1) they happen to fall off
2) if we are making multiple changes or if you have to add a NON Emmons cut pull rod. The ends of the Emmons rods are machined to accept the 7/64 E Clip.
they are NOT a deal killer. _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

You could also use small-thin silicone o-rings. They'd have the advantage of keeping things from rattling, too, if installed properly. |

Donny, now thats an interesting idea.
I am guessing that the small O RINGS actually seat inside the CUT groove of the rod end which would prevent them from sliding off. I Might have to visit this, not that I am having any issues, but still, it's very interesting.
