I'm thinking of offering a D9th string set. Is there any demand for it?

Probably not much. You could offer a set that you make from singles you stock when an order was placed. Just sell it as a prepackaged set.

I would imagine there are others besides me, that don't want to deal with putting a set together from singles. I want to buy a set.

I would consider it for sure. What would the gauges be? Wound 6th?

Definitely a wound 6th.

E .014
C# .017
F# .013
D .015
A .020
F# .026w
E .030
D .034
C .038
A .042

I personally play a D6th S-10 that includes the E9th pedals, so I have a very high confidence in these gauges on strings 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. Those are included in my D6th tuning.

b0b, how much adjustment would the average E9 guitar require; for those wanting to try these gauges?

I'd like to see a D9 set (I recently converted but am still using a downtuned E9 set).

Also, what gauges would you recommend for us 12 string players for the low F# and D? I'm thinking a .048 & .060 Winking

That's what I use for the bottom strings of D6th (G and D). Should work fine.

Mainly the 6th string. If you use a plain 6th on E9th, you will have to move the pull rod to a different hole. Everything else is probably just a retuning of the pedals of the pedals and levers.
