Beautiful work, Michael. Can you describe how walnut sounds in comparison to Koa? I know that’s a bit of a subjective question.... _________________ Steelin' time.... |

Compared to some traditional weissenborns, that body looks purty deep
Just saying

Thank you.
Billy,
I can make a deep or deeper body. This one is 3 3/4" deep at the tail end.
Tony,
I've never worked with Koa, though I would like to, I've read that it is comparable to black walnut as far as density goes. I guess I would say it has a 'warm' sound, probably similar to other hardwood topped guitars.

Not only is this guitar beautiful it sounds beautiful as well.
I was able to see and play it last week, like Michael says it has a warm sound.
I played it acoustic and plugged in to an amp and was very impressed that it did not want to feedback when playing with the amp. My cheapo shallow body Aiersi wants to feedback within a few feet of an amp, this beauty did not do that and I was facing the amp an arms length away. _________________ 1948 National Dynamic, 1953 Oahu Tonemaster, cheap Aiersi Weissenborn, Hambro custom square neck reso, Carvin X-60A, Fender Acoustasonic 30

Hi Michael,
It's sounds alright and looks great.
I'm also a luthier who don't play as well as I build.
Still think it's a fine looking instrument at a great price.
Someone will be thrilled to get it.
Best wishes,
