I would like to buy the amp because I have one just like it but it is broken (not working). Problem is the check out shows over $300.00 shipping.

Guy's, I had the same problem, shipping to Georgia was going to be $376. How could this be? |

To clarify, this is not my store. They are a good reputable mid-size store that specializes in acoustic gear.
I just wanted to give the group a heads up on a neat rig. |

Is this still available? It looks an awful lot like the one Damir is selling... _________________ Mostly Pre-1970 guitars. |

$895 is a fair and correct price for this amp.
Asking $4000 for this model Standel, on the forum is not cool. |
buy this one then Todd... |

Looks minty, price is "reasonable" even considering $300 shipping. Jazz guitarists also love these amps!!!!! _________________ Mark Twang |

Ahhh......Dusty Strings.
When I lived in the area that was my favorite place.
I have a couple of their hammered dulcimers.
Very nice people. _________________ I have stuff.

The modules inside are potted. Why would you want an amp that you can't work on and is difficult to source parts for? Tone I understand but what happens when it needs service? |

It's not the end of the world if it happens. A preamp module went bad on my Custom XV a couple years ago.. I asked for a schematic on the Standel fb page, which I gave to my amp guy. He built a little circuit board version of the module and put it in the amp. It sounds every bit as good as the original. |

The hybrid transistor/tube Standel amps are unique in that the modules do not match the available schematics. I happen to be the only one that has taken the time to slowly tear apart the modules and make my own schematics for them. I do repairs on them. _________________ Michael Brebes

And I will be shipping mine to Michael Monday to get it repaired. I have some very sentimental reasons for wanting it working again. I have had two techs try and fail but I am confident that Michael will get it done.
