Can someone tell me what brand keyhead this is? I thought it was Emmons until I compared them. It is so similar. It is 1/8" wider at the nut end and almost same at small end than Emmons. Emmons has 2 1/8" bolt pattern at nut end and this one has 2 1/2" pattern (center to center). In comparison photo the one with closer mounting holes is Emmons and the other is the mystery head.

I don't know what it is, but I don't think its Sho-Bud. The later non-Gumby Sho-Bud heads I've seen all had a big tang on the nut end that extends under the neck and fretboard like a Franklin, and just different proportions and details |

I am wondering if it might be Derby. It is very close to Emmons. Overall length is same as Emmons.

Jerry,
Not sure about all Derby's, but my Derby does have the 2-1/2" spacing c/c at the nut. The difference on mine is that all the steps from tuner to tuner on the outside of the head have a radius corner and not the more defined 90 deg. corners like the one shown. Hope this helps. |

Sure looks like my Zum keyhead. There have been a few changes to them over the years to accommodate different tuners. |
