Well my forum friends,,,my worst fears have materialized,,,,just found out that our friend Steve passed away in early November. I had contacted his friend Mark about a week ago, and this evening Steves wife Roz called and gave me the news. Not sure what the issue was, I knew he was having some complications fro his hip/knee surgeries. Sad news indeed. Steve had bought several things from me, including a couple of Kline guitars,,,and we talked very often while he was in China. |

Wow, I am so sad to hear this! I had hoped to meet him when I was in Beijing as part of a tour of China a couple years ago, but it didn't work out. |

Sorry to read this news. Steve and I had many forum conversations and some mutual gear deals. I found him to be a likable person who was very passionate about steel guitars.
He had contacted me about an item I had for sale in the fall, but I never heard back from him. He told me he was having health problems earlier as well.
Sincere condolences to Steve's family.
RIP Mr. Steve |

So sorry about this. Steve was a great contributor here, and always had kind words toward me. He bought a steel from me as well a few years ago. I guess I didn't know he was that sick. He was one of my favorites on this forum, and I'll miss him... rest in peace my friend... bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

What a tremendous loss to his family, his friends, the Forum, and the world.
He was a kind, thoughtful soul. I hope he and chris ivey are sitting around somewhere shooting the breeze about steel guitar.
Thanks for letting us know, Sonny. |

What very sad news. Steve and I corresponded regularly for years. He was always such an interesting and worldly person with his travels and experiences. Steve was passionate about music and guitars and always a pleasure to deal with as we both contributed to each other's Guitar Acquisition Syndrome. The words that come to mind when I think of Steve are kind, genuine, honest and a great friend. Rest in peace, buddy, the world was a much better place because of you. |

Godspeed Steve.
Prayers and condolences to the family and close friends.
Was shocked to read Steve's name here.
Steve along with Chris Brooks were responsible for a Filipino steel musician, Cris Bordon, who understands the instrument to acquire a Williams PSG, gifting Cris with the guitar shipped to him in the Philippines in 2000.
You will be missed Steve by us here and the friends you've made in your world travels .

Well I just spoke with Roz, Steve's wife,,, even though she is still devastated over this, she did share some details. It seems that Steve was in much worse health than he let any of us know,,,mainly congestive heart failure and kidney dysfunction. To think of all the times I've talked to him and the things we've shared over the years and he never let anyone know! In addition to being the positive, upbeat guy that we all knew he must have been a very brave man also. This forum has lost a very loyal contributor and will definitely be missed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Roz and their family,,,rest in peace dear friend. |

So shocked and sad to hear this. Steve was a model "Forumite", and a great ambassador for the steel guitar in China. He became a Forum member in 1998! I'll miss him.
Sincere condolences to his family.
