Has anyone ever seen a schemo that would switch a single pot back & forth from volume control to tone control circuit?
I would try to map it out but I can't seem to apply the mental fat to it.
I'm trying to figure if it is possible to have a push-pull pot that could consolidate these two functions to one single either/or control. |

At one time I had that in my mind and somehow it got forgotten. Thanks--that may be a good option. |

AHA! Found it in StewMac! Between the two options, looks like I've got what I need.

The only shortcoming with such a setup that the volume must default to wide open when you switch to the tone control function. Without two separate pot elements somewhere in the circuit, there's no way to "hold" or save the volume setting. |

Ah. Good thought.
I'm putting in a StewMac order and I'd definitely add a concentric pot but...they don't have any. |

Jon, I used one of these Concentric Pots on an Autoharp that I electrified a couple of years ago:

Space was at a bit of a premium and I had one on hand so gave it a go. They also have knob sets for these. Resistance values may not be what you are looking for. I didn´t need the plug, so I cut it off and just used the leads. Good Luck with The Project. _________________ "For every expert, there is an equal and opposite expert." -- Arthur C. Clarke |

No--no problem finding one. But I'm a single source consolidation freak, when possible. If I could have added it to my StewMac order it would have fallen into place neatly.
Thanks, Michael. |
