Can you change the jewel colour on a fender steel king?
Mine got broke so was going to run with a cool blue one
but does not seem to want to come off??

May not help, but I have 4 older fenders, and they all just screw on..standard thread, but I've had them be tight! If the external (jewel) piece has knurling on it, it should be the screw type.

They are available in many places, Musician's Fiend, (yes I meant to say fiend) Tubes and More, Amp Repair Parts. About $3.00 a pop

Fender Amp Jewels:



They should screw off and on. Gently use a pliers with a piece of cloth over the bezel to protect the amp.

I have light blue ones on both my Silverface Princeton Reverb and my Silverface Musicmaster Bass Amp.
They match the blue weave in the grille cloth and look pretty cool.

The steel king has no Knurling on it Dave and does not look as if it comes off?
I guess it has to some how??

If it doesn't twist off like the 50's lamp assemblies then the whole assembly needs to be replaced which means amp doctor visit if one is not savvy.
