Hi folks,

Just curious if anyone could identify this guitar.
It's on the Goodwill auction site at $56 at the moment.
It has a few characteristics of a National but also kind of looks like it may be home made or someone tried to redo it.
I have seen a couple of older (40's) Nationals with dots for fret markers and of course the body shape.
Other than that I got nothing.
No markings on it that they know of.
I'm just curious, if the price stays low I may jump in. I have nothing to work on at the moment.

Have a good day.

Not a clue. It's definitely not from any of the major US builders.

It looks vaguely like some of the Harmony models from the 50's. Definitely a low end model whatever it is. there is such a glut in the used (and new) cheap lap steel market I would't pay more than $50-60 bucks for it if you knew it worked AND just wanted one to fool around with.

It looks kinda Supro-ish to me. That was the era that the music instrument builders first discovered plastic. Observe the molded pickup cover and bridge.
I had a Supro Comet (different model) that got stolen out of the back of a pickup truck while i was loading out. Never did recover it. Wish I still had it.
