I'm condsidering changing the pickups in my Super-Pro. Presently I have stock S-B (3/16) 18K single coils. I've heard Jerry Wallace rewinds SB pickups. Also, I continue to hear great things about his own pickups (1/4"). Any real difference in the size of the pole? I'm considering lowering the DC resistance to somewhere between 16 & 17. Any experience or comments. DJ

I asked Ricky Davis this same question on the chat room and he thought the TT's at 16-17k would be A-OK. Jerry can always rewind them a little heavier later.

Doug buy several then just sell the ones you do not like, then there is no waiting around for others to be made.

My experience is that with all other things being equal, you wouldn't even notice a difference in a 17k pickup vs. an 18k pickup. That's too small a difference to concern yourself with.

I suggest you simply tell Jerry what kind of pickup you have, and what kind of change you want to make in the sound, and then just leave the "numbers thing" to him.
