I'll be in Baltimore at the end of the month, are there any steel shops in the area? Any good bands playing?

Thanks

Mostly play at home through the sound system, playing along with tracks. Getting spoiled with that tone!

Nope. The last music store that featured pedal steels was Petro's Music, in Highlandtown, but it's been gone for a couple of decades. You can occasionally find a pedal steel at Bill's Music House, in Catonsville (big store, west of Baltimore), or one of the smaller music chain stores. But that would only be something they've take in on a trade. Baltimore is kinda dead, as far as regular pedal steel music is concerned. As far as I know, only at one small bar in Essex (NE of the city) will you find (one) pedal steeler that plays fairly regularly.
