Midnight In Amarillo all on the E9 tuning played on my Excel S-12 using only the standard top 10 strings. Steel parts played through an Allen Encore tube amp with tube reverb.
Drums are EZDrummer. Piano and fiddle (Wanda Vick) parts are RealTracks. I used the Reaper delay to add an Echoplex sound to the electric mandolin.
Hear Midnight In Amarillo!

Thanks Larry! HAVEN'T Played in a while and want to keep my studio skills a bit active. Life slows down up here in NW PA in the winter and a person can go crazy without a winter hobby.......... |

Lou, I'll check that out if I can find it!
Thanks Ken!
Ray, I've given up trying to do any more extensive tabs. I tried to copy Pete Drake as close as possible on this one and he does some pretty tricky things to make notes move around. For example, instead of just striking open strings 4,5 and 6, Pete strikes strings 4 and 5 while sliding into the 2nd fret on string 7, simulating a moving pedal. Try it! It's an awesome sound. You can hear it on my recording in at least 5 places at:
0:15 - 0:17
0:30 - 0:32
0:59 - 1:01
3:13 - 3:14
3:27 - 3:29
