Specifically the pickups that were part of the 4rh generation two pickup Eharps. Do this need any updating, remagnetizing, anything like that? Any other steels use those pickups?

Valco's under-string pickups used Alnico V magnets, so they're no more prone to demagnetization than most other '50s pickups. Unless you store them next to something like a speaker magnet or a neutron star for an extended period, they should be strong for a very long time.

I haven't taken apart an EHarp pickup, but based on Valco's constant recycling of existing designs, they're almost certainly extended versions of the 6-string units used on Valco guitars and steels.

So, what do ya mean by not working ? Completely dead ? Wiring OK ? Do you have a meter to check the winding for continuity ?

If I tap on the poles, i get some response from the top 2 poles nothing from the other. I am an idiot when it comes to electronics, so no meter. Other puckup is fine
